OK Button in Dialog box greyed out when linking to Word file

I have set up links on a web page to Word files. When you click the
link a dialog box opens asking whether to open or save the file. The
default program to open the file is MS Word. So far so good.

The problem is that the "OK" button in the dialog box is greyed out.
Click on it once, and it becomes available (un-greyed). Clicking a
second time opens the file.

The link looks like this: <a href="spec_clipon_int.doc"
target="_blank">. If anyone can help me solve this small but annoying
problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Barry

This will be highly dependent on the user's platform, browser, and
configuration status. If they don't happen to have M$ Word installed,
what would you expect their system to do? It would be better to use a
less proprietary format for Web content.

Which browser? I use Firefox and this sort of thing happens quite often.

Thanks for your reply. It was occurring in both Firefox and IE. In any
case, since posting, I found that removing the "target="blank"" from
the img tag (not needed anyway) has eliminated the problem.
